Syringa vulgaris 'Cristallo di Cortina'

Select Plus selection 2010 from a seedling done in 2002. The flowers are pure satiny transluscent white and the buds are pale yellow prior to opening.
Fragrance is very high and petals are recurved.
From open pollinasation the mother plant is Syringa vulgaris 'White Lace'
The meaning of the lilac is The Crystals of Cortina. The Cristallo mountains is a mountain group northeast of Cortina D'Ampezzo. Cristallo is known for high peaks with 4 summits higher than 3,000 meters.
One of the major ski areas in the area. There is a gondola lift still present that was built for the 1956 Olympics.
